its not all bitter fair trade coffee and twitter at the café boheme but the lofty books strewn face down on the tables dont contain all the answers either
nor does the burning tv on the shelf above the door
from somewhere tina turner sings ' we dont need another bodhisattva '
but its too fucking late
sacred ideas always blind and kill
and its so difficult not to hate in return
so very difficult when the shadows shift so swiftly between the tropics of being
when unlived life ticks out so unfairly
and the cold hands of unwavering belief weigh down heavilly
squeezing blood from the mouths of us all
