biofuels eat food by autotelic

Everyone’s an exquisite dilettante these days

Nature would prefer it if we all just burned out

And faded away

Life wasn’t supposed to begin at 40

It was supposed to end there

But no, the people won’t have it

They want to grasp those exhilarating opportunities

For continued self actualization

Nature is offended

Get off the fucking stage

Stop evolving already!

If you’ve run out of ideas,

Just remember,

That’s the way nature intended it to be

Ps: (the current food crisis is directly related to the quest for immortality)

so when are you gonna get the fuck off the stage?
D   |2008-06-08 01:35:54
This is a weird one as world life expectancy has more than doubled over the
past two centuries, from around 25 years to about 65 for men and 70 for women
and research shows that for 160 years, best-performance life expectancy has
steadily increased by a quarter of a year per annum. The average life expectancy
in the west is now pushing towards 80 although in the developing world its
around half that. The problem is technology is making people redundant and with
massive population growth there are diminishing returns on the value of the
individual and what it means to be human whether we want to admit this or not.

Better healthcare is obviously one factor pushing the limits here but
keeping some people alive longer in one part of the world when tens of millions
of others are starving in another and hundreds of times more everywhere are
essentially becoming redundant to the economy doesnt make an awful lot of
fucking sense and the question of how do we achieve validation within the
culture against this backdrop is a really complex one as its clearly something
else we have to compete for against increasing odds .

I think the quest for
immortality - and its very real - will ultimately see homo sapiens go the way of
the neanderthals through design or catastrophic fuck up. God knows what the
sequel will be.

I was going to wait until no-one was looking to make my exit from the stage then
it suddenly dawned on me that no-one had ever been looking.I'm now waiting for
the audience to arrive before I start my Kafkaesque dying swan act.
LB   |2008-06-08 04:39:46
I already read The iceman Cometh once in college, I'm not interested in the
reruns.

I sleep a lot easier at night knowing that the huddled masses yearn for better
tomorrows as I'm in the personal development business, a business my wife and I
established after her accident with a loan from our church, and we are getting
a lot of referrals from the probation service at the moment.
Anonymous   |2008-06-08 18:09:48
WTF?
redstarfist  - greetings Willy   |2008-06-08 18:16:22
I sleep a lot better at night knowing that I have completely given up and have
successfully achieved non-selfdom.

How's that for "personal"
development??????????????
willy  - Success is a Gift   |2008-06-08 19:06:54
We have found peace in Christ Red and my wife now views her physical disability
as a gift from god. We are no longer bitter about the accident and not being
able to start our own family, we view everyone as a member of our family now.
Change and success are possible, we have found both and developed in so many
other ways through Christ.
Jane   |2008-06-08 19:30:35
Hey Willy is that you? My Thursday 4.30 guy? I told you about the site.

You'll love the new outfit.
redstarfist  - hey willy   |2008-06-08 20:19:50
I totally respect what you're saying. Truth is, I still have one last ditch
fantasy: I often just want to hop on a freight train and jump off in some small
town full of people that truly believe that Christ has the power to convince me
that life is worth living.

I'm definitely still open to getting caught up in
the euphoria of some freaky deaky tent revival action, and I have no doubt that
you're the guy I want to call when the ideation reaches an all time
high.

Welcome!
Willy   |2008-06-08 20:29:23
Our church offers psychological counselling as well but there is a limit on
what we can do.
E   |2008-06-09 06:42:16
jesus can't save any of us, he can't live or breathe for any of us either, so
there are limits to what he can do too, that's why so many people start drinking
shortly after they find jesus.

should you venture out on a dylan quest, be
prepared for a big let down, especially when you discover that the snake
charmers and charismatic enthusiasts can't replace the family you never had
Willy   |2008-06-09 06:54:48
Jesus is capable of all things.
E from biloxi  - continuation   |2008-06-09 06:55:59
my point was, just be careful if you turn to jesus out of desperation, there's
not a damn thing he can do to make life any easier, been there done that, i've
ended up in those places that redstarfist is getting sentimental about, there
aren't any answers there darlin'

sounds like willy has a good gig going
though
Jane   |2008-06-09 07:00:07
Yeah, he's a fucking regular superhero.

Its a comforting distraction Willy ,
Jesus exists in the minds of men because they think he does, right there beside
the fairies , leprechauns and hoped for lottery wins.
Anna   |2008-06-09 07:09:00
As someone educated in a Catholic convent school I would never seek to rob
someone of their faith but at the same time I wont encourage delusions either.
Its arrogant and insensitive of you to presume your self satisfied beliefs offer
redemption or a solution to the material problems others face in the world
.

Jesus is a pipedream
E   |2008-06-09 07:13:30
so Jane, you and Willy are playing the people are ya?

i really checked out
this site, and there's a piece called 'casino capitalism', it was my favorite
out of the whole lot of ramblings to be found, i think they ought to post some
pics of you and willy on that piece, or post copies of your business cards,
we're all doing what we can to survive, but damn you 2 folks are blatant about
it, just don't be robbin' the poor woman
Jane   |2008-06-09 07:21:30
Honey if to stay afloat requires pulling someone else under that's what I'm
gonna do with gusto.

You know, I get dissed for being ruthless all the time
but mostly by comfortably well off people who will never have to be consciously
ruthless themselves . Save your fucking disdain for someone who gives a fucking
shit.
