I'm moving West and wont be online for a while but i'll try to hook up with
people through the local library in Salt Lake City. Things didnt work out with
mom and dad . The Trust money was lost trying to recapitalise dad's firm and
uncle Max has been charged over some financial irregularities and he and mom
..well, dad is taking things hard but he also let things slide with mom and I'm
not going to take sides. LDS reached out to me as it all fell apart but hey,
I've spiritually grown, I really have. Things happen for a reason. Out of chaos
comes purpose.

apparently there's some kind of revolution going on, I don't think I'm sleeping
through it, but I am going through it alone. 45,000 people showed up for an
Obama rally about 2 miles from where I live yesterday. McCain was also in town
yesterday, and 1500 people showed up for his rally. They say that just voting
for Obama is the revolution, but meanwhile I'm trying to understand if I'm more
screwed than most people by taking a look at the terror management theory....it
all comes back to those cultural buffers that I can't rely on to save me from
death.

the one click instant gratification isn't working for me........and all the
terror management theory can say is "i told you so".

My local library doesnt have any books on Terror Management, I checked. I also
picked up ' The Sane Society ' again the other day but then realised I had
already maxxed out my borrowing limit with books from the Self Help section so
I had to put it back. Where does one take the awful preoccupation with death and
the uncertainty beyond it?

It's ironic that the Obama movement rallies under the banner of Change as my
psyche is quietly undergoung a losing battle with the profoundest Change of
all. I'm dying .

Figures! Some of the research involves the psychology of nostalgia!

brilliant post!
the only thing is, i've never seen autotelic eat a sandwich.
she seems to prefer salads and strong coffee.
rosie, of course, gets sandwiches
all of the time!

the future is fuelled by caffeine

autotelic has a bit more work to do on the biceps
but rosie definitely needs
to cut back on the sanwiches as job opportunities for riveters are a bit thin on
the ground at the moment unless she's thinking of relocating to China .
